OK, so this post seems to have vanished when I tried to upload it yesterday so I'll try again.

The ten things I would like for Solstice/Yule/Hogmanay meme

  1. Stuff from my Amazon wishlist (which of course you don't have to get from Amazon, especially the out-of-print stuff...)
  2. A digital camera with optical zoom
  3. About 11 balls of Rowan chunky chenille in aubergine, or similar quality yarn I can knit for myself with
  4. People to lend me DVDs such as Stargate Season 6 onward, Kill Bill 1&2, Matrix 2&3, Hitchhikers, CSI season 2 onward, Lost etc
  5. A decent quality small compass
  6. A maglite, not the very littlest sort
  7. More bamboo knitting needles and/or a decent way to store all my knitting needles
  8. Good tequila. Actually any and all tequila is good, but posh stuff from Lupe Pintos especially so
  9. People to drive me to nice places in the country next year
  10. Mix CDs are always good

Alison wants only to move from text to application - eh?
Alison wants to take a holiday - oh yes

Alison wants to run laps around the back patio - no, not as such.

Places Alison wants to visit - Barcelona, Eden in Cornwall, Orkney, Shetland, Tangier, Oporto, Rome, Dublin, Damascus if it's ever safe, Istanbul, New Orleans when they fix it, Kynance Cove in Cornwall, Avignon, Vienna, Tokyo with someone who knows it, Athens, Copenhagen, Iceland, New York, Amsterdam again, Berlin again, Niagara Falls, Rio, Brasilia

Things Alison wants to do - write a novel, see the Northern Lights, DMT, get a house with a garden and stuff, win the lottery, have good hair, have a date with a gigolo, read Thud, learn to knit in circles, get the bloody bathroom fixed, ditto the bloody boiler, get a new bed, go in a hot spring, eat steak, get taken to a posh restaurant, learn to make chilli with mole, learn to drum GOOD, have a part in Beltane where I can show my tits, lose at least a couple of stone, be fitter, get a new kitchen, watch Mirrormask, get a copy of Anansi Boys, visit London people again, help at BiCon again, learn to write hieroglyphics, stay with Jon, finish my cardigan, sell some clothes, have a mega fortieth birthday party, be better at keeping up with my friends, go home and drink beer, paint my room, get rid of one sofa, move somewhere with more space for books, fit an inline switch to my clay lamp, sand my coffee table, tell my boss to stuff it, learn to bead weave and make a necklace, be the centre of a web, be able to be normal, be proud to be weird.
