I am reading Gödel Escher Bach right now* (thanks
pavlos). It's a hard book to read, and not only because I can barely hold it upright in my preferred reading position of on my side in bed.I remember the last time I tried to read it in the mid 80s I pretty much read the dialogues and scanned the rest. So I am very pleased that not only am I reading it properly this time, but I solved the MI-MU puzzle By Myself, on a piece of paper, in bed. To the mathematicians and logicians among you that may not seem hard, but for someone whose eyes tend to glaze over when symbols appear, it's a relief to know I still have the interest and a brain of sorts to exercise it.
Also I have been actually productive at work today. I don't like to suggest the two are related, but it's cool.
*apart from yesterday afternoon, when I bought and read The Grim Grotto, which was a welcome relief
