I am happy and optimistic and full of bonhomie. It's a pity that I have a huge task ahead of me at work and I have a persistent headache behind my left eye and the gnomes are tunneling away at my insides, but feh! Away dull care! It's Friday and I have achieved stuffs this week and I refuse to be downcast!

I had a really pleasant evening with Jon last night which included a brief visit to Jingling Geordies (not bad except for the clientele) and another to The Malt Shovel (better clientele, live traditional music played less well than it could have been, but not too loud). He also gave me a useful belated birthday present, which helped set the tone for the evening...

Does anyone at all want a 15" CRT monitor? It's quite good, honest - and free. Also an Aiwa cassette deck out of my hi-fi separates available for a measly few quid. And I still have a chest of drawers and a wardrobe going begging...
