So, it looks as if [livejournal.com profile] sibelian and I have acquired a flat. In an hour or so I will be off to the mortgage shop to see if we can acquire an enormous debt to secure it with (we have an agreement in principle, so it should be OK, crossing all my extremities), then we have to tackle the not inconsiderable task of identifying and disposing of our excess junk. Ouch.

Anyway, 'tis on Morrisson Street, on the 4th floor (which will be good for me, yes, it will). It has two double-but-not-enormous bedrooms that look out the back, a proper bathroom with a bath, a kitchen with a window and room for a small counter with stools, and a decent-size-but-not-huge living room which looks out the front but has secondary glazing. We like it. If all goes well we'd be moving at the start of November.

I expect we'll be getting rid of a lot of stuff, including a two seater sofa, a dining table and a couple of wardrobes (it has built in ones). I don't want to give away any furniture till after my party, but give me a shout if you want to baggsie anything. Meanwhile, here is some smaller stuff I want to dispose of:

Goodmans CD Walkman
Sony Mini disc Walkman
Hairdryer (1400)
Aiwa casette Walkman
A cute mini FM radio walkman (probably only worth a packet of peanuts)
Keyboard for V series Palm
Set computer speakers
PS2 keyboard and mouse

I'd like a few quid for at least some of those, though I know they're not worth much. If I got a couple of quid or a fiver or something, though, I could save up for shelves and a hoover for the new place...

Oh, and I have some books and stuff that I could donate to a bi archive, if one was to materialise, though they'd need to be taken away before we move.

Congratulations! I will probably have a little space in the car when I'm heading back to London after the party, so I couold ferry some stuff southwards if that helped.

Wow! cool. Sorry I sold the fridge to a second hand furniture place (hope you're not too stuck).

On another subject entirely; please come to my leaving thingy at cairmen's on this Sunday if at all possible- it would be nice to see you before I go.

We're fine for fridges thanks - I'm glad you managed to get a few squid for it. the only thing we really need is a hoover, which won't break the bank.

I'll try to be at your do, but I'm going to the open Samhuinn Meeting in Tolcross first so I may be a bit late...

I'll give you some money for the mini disc walkman.

Glad to hear you'll be living close to us! You can both come around for tea anytime you like!

Cool - it's yours. You can collect at my party if you're coming, or let me know if you want to meet up before...

I can't make it to the party, as I'm working from 8am the next day (I need to be sensible about these things) How about meeting up sometime? I can meet you on Monday the 27th or most of the time the week before and the week before that (which is next week) What time is best for you?

The 27th would be OK. I'm away the 15th to the 22nd, but I'm flexible apart from that. I'm free in the daytime on the 23rd and 24th, otherwise it's after work...

Let's meet around noon on the 23rd. Would you prefer if I came around to yours, or we could grab a coffee at the starbucks at the top of your street?

OK. Come to mine first and then we'll decide?

Congratulations on acquiring new digs. Hope the mnove goes well for you & that it is relatively stress-free (relative to what though I guess!).
I think one of pals (goth) lives on that same street.

Kay was talking about a Bi archive at Bicon, and there was a workshop on it. [livejournal.com profile] mdw, I think, though I am guessing...

What colour is the sofa and how much would you want for it? Though I suppose transporting it to London isn't very practical.

It's honestly not nice enough to be transporting any distance. The annoying thing for me is that it's not fireproof, so the Edinburgh Furniture Initiative won't take it...
