Interesting, the little ways one has of cheering oneself up when life gets wearing. I spend money on records, and soft summer fruits are lovely at the moment. Or a nice bottle of wine. I like a splash of orange-juice with strawberries - I guess it's something like the balsamic vinegar - the mild acidity bringing out the strawberryness. I've never tried them fried, though. I've got some strawberries now, but nothing else to go with them. Except toast.

I took you at your word and fried a few strawberries with olive oil and chopped basil this morning, and jolly nice it was too!
