purplerabbits at 10:53pm on 30/12/2013This time it has only the good things from 2013, because other year memes make me sad.
Things I did for the first time:
Bought a fitted kitchen
Went up Cairngorm (even though I took the funicular most of the way)
Went to a SF convention
Went to Birdfair
Let total strangers drive me back to Edinburgh from the Highlands
Thing I was the first person to do ever - be locked in the Highland Wildlife Park
Wild things seen for the first time include: Hen harrier, Twite, Muntjac deer, many many Ospreys and a cute ikkle pine marten. Also mini badgers
Achieverations I am proud of: the peacock shawl, kitchen design especially the spice storage, house clearance stuff, getting back in touch with my brother, selling things to people who will love them, and many instances of being strong and brave in the face of adversity.
Things that are better than at the start of the year: kitchen of awesome, including the lovely black fridge, not having to go to work, the mortgage being more paid off, not working at Children in Scotland any more, some aspects of my mental health, having daytimes to do things and stuff cos of not having my shitty shitty job any more, Jon's housing and my relationship with Jon.
People who rocked: too many to mention, including many many kind strangers in the highlands, Natalya and Lauren and the folk at Advocard for support with ESA stuff, Paul and Sandy and Jon and Jenny and Lindsey and Jo for being extra lovely friends, all the knitters and other mentalists for coping with me being mad three counsellors and two GPs, loads of internet people who said nice things, and my mum.
Greatest acquisition of the year: possibly the kitchen, but actually I think the prize goes to the free bus pass, which has been a godsend.
Anniversary still available to celebrate due to missing them: 20 years in Edinburgh. Wow.
