I've had a somewhat crappy couple of days, so to cheer me up here is a lyrics quiz.
Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play.
Step 3: Ask everyone to guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: No cheating

- I'm surrounded by idiots every day, frustrated by the games that people play, confused by what the TV says I need
- Coming down say I love it now now now
You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain- Here silver trumpets will trill in the Arabic streets of Seville.
Oranges roll in the gutter and you pick them up and peel back the skin See her face, everyday. I see her face, it doesn't help meFor once in my life I've got something to say
I wanna say it now for now is today
A love has been given so why not enjoy
So let's all grab and let's all enjoy- Eternity is a lonely place,
An ocean without shores
Empty faces tracing paths through lonely corridors Watching him dash away, swinging an old bouquet- My flatmate told me,
Said that you'd rung while I was out
Celebrating being young
And I was thinking while I was drinking,
I'd like to think I'm an adventurous chicken... 22 miles of hard road 33 years of tough luck 44 skulls buried in the ground crawling down through the muck- Oh I had nine lives but I lost all of them
and I've been seaching the night
and I've been seaching in the rain
I tried to find them
But they disappeared I'd burn all the uniforms I'd burn all the ask me buttons
I'd burn all the intercoms I'd burn all the time clock cardsWe were tight, but it falls apart as silver turns to blue.
Waxing with a candlelight, and burning just for youAnd she was lying in the grass
And she could hear the highway breathingI know cos I've seen it it was great and I want it
There's no point in sitting going crazy on my ownOn 6.6.66 I was little I didn't know shit
About 7.7.77 eleven years later still don't know any betterDestiny, destiny protect me form the world
Destiny hold my hand protect me from the worldSharp as teeth and stars
I can't give you up
Like a moth to light
Move like caramel- Every morning now I pray
The phantom pains not to come again
A million tears to slip away
And take the vessel of my blame I wanted to be with you alone
And talk about the weather
But traditions I can trace against the child in your face
Won't escape my attention

14. And She Was - Talking Heads.
15. Modern Way - Kaiser Chiefs (I think it's that song, anyway)
18. Koko - Goldfrapp. I fell hopelessly in love with those lyrics the moment I heard them.
20. Head Over Heels - Tears For Fears, probably my favourite of their songs, too.
All of which reminds me. I took all your things from your Audiography post in 80s week, and I have yet to listen to some of them, but this is principally because I have been obsessing over, and indeed rolling around on the floor sobbing and listening to, 'Calypso' by Suzanne Vega. Thank you very much for making it part of my life, it's important.

16 - Morphine, French Fries with pepper.
Chips in a peppery sauce actually was what I had for dinner on 9/9/99. It seemed best.
