Dell Dimension 2400
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz
256 MN RAM
40 Gig Hard drive
DVD/CD-RW drive
I think it has a modem in it, certainly it has a network card for broadband.
Firewire card added by me for the iPod enabled
4 x USB 2.0 ports, including two on the front
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and a bunch of other software including firewalls etc, with original Dell Disks
Including a keyboard, mouse and speakers but not the monitor

Also available, one ye olde HP Laserjet printer, still perfectly functional

What should I be asking for this? Does anyone want it?

Post to [livejournal.com profile] edinburgers and offer it to the first person who will collect it.

Its not a bad machine (same kind of spec as I'm planning to give my sister in the summer) and would be useful to a few people I'm sure.

I'd not suggest anything over 100, but something like that should be reasonable.

I could really use getting something in the £100 mark, but I don't want to overcharge, so that would be up for negotiation...

The memory and lack of monitor makes it hard to charge more, although the free printer should help.

You could try asking for a little more and haggling, but I always find the hassle of doing that almost outweights the extra money.

Just out of interest what would a flatscreen monitor add (wondering whether I can justify buying a bigger one...)

170-150 I'd say. But I guess it depends on who is looking ..

OK, nevermind.

Yes, I'm staying overnight and getting a lift with Graham.

Does this imply that Graham is stasyting overnight as well? (I'll ask him when he gets back).

It's his too (i've now asked him). Another outing for my tent (which I am now quite good at putting up)!

I am sadly lacking a (working) printer. How much do you want for your Laserjet? (I assume there will be no problems connecting it to a Linux box).

My quick comment is that Dell now sell something with a slightly better spec for £199, with a 17" CRT monitor I think.

You should be able to get about £80-£100 for it.

Which model of LaserJet?
