Candy

I've been meaning for ages to make a compilation of songs called Candy. So, I have Ash, Elvis Costello, JAMC, The Presidents, PWEI, @Candy Says' (which version?), I don't know if I should include 'I want Candy?' or if I should stick to its use as a name.

So, has anyone got any more?

Candy Perfume Girl by Madonna.

Plus there's Candy Girl by Babybird... I believe there's also a Jackson 5 song of the same name but I don't know if it's the same song!

I think you could almost do an entire album of just remixes of 'I want Candy...'

Marcy Playground (a band from where I am! They're named after one of the schools in Minneapolis) has a great one called 'Sex and Candy' which was really popular around here, but I don't know if it got a lot of airplay in the UK.

Hurm... a quick search of www.cddb.com turns up a little under 4000 hits for albums with candy in a track title. *grin* I think you've got quite a selection to work with!

... Cool idea tho. I've been doing some compilations, perhaps I'll try for one witha similar theme. Thanks!

I doubt - although I'm by no means sure - that Babybird would cover New Edition...unless they did something really strange with it. Jackson Five, however, very likely, since IIRC 'Candy Girl' was just a ripoff of 'ABC' anyway...

Since I seem to be destined here to suggest the *appalling* songs, there's also always 'Candyman' by Aqua. ~g~

No, the Baby Bird song is definitely unrelated to any other of the same name. And, as I recall, also a little ruder in its implications, in spite of the included denial.
