Stay little valentine, stay

I did much painting this weekend - the hall is now green and gold but a lot of tidying up round the edges needs to be done. Now that I'm doing DIY, though, I realise how much I can't do. Does anyone out there have either the tools or the expertise to help me shave a couple of millimetres off the bottom of my bedroom door, for instance. That one thing would improve my life so much...

And I have decided that I have to go see Elvis Costello at the Usher Hall on Valentine's Day - would that not be very appropriate? Does anyone want to come with me?

Elvis is indeed rather tempting.

If it is just a couple of mm, then sandpaper is going to be much easier than taking it off its hinges, using a plane on the the bottom, and trying to put the door back.

I'm not going to be able to get sandpaper under it without taking it down, anyway, but I have an electric sander, which should make it quicker when I have it down...

It's so tight, you can't put some paper under it? Gosh.

Oh well, out with the screwdriver then. It's a two person job and you're better off unscrewing the screws in the door frame than the ones in the door, IME.

Hmmm, I thought your icon was some kind of delicious pie until I inspected it closely. Maybe I should eat lunch.
