I am very busy at work, so I'm doing this. At the moment, though I feel as if I have nothing to say. This is in spite of the major event which is hopefully about to occur and the life-changing decision I am currently trying to make. Maybe when they have happened I'll feel less in Limbo. Meanwhile here are some small decisions you can help me with?

Should I buy Princess Mononoke on DVD?
What is the best MP3 jukebox for under £200?
Where should I go this weekend?
What films should I see in the cinema?
Why am I so sad?
Music:: The only one - Morphine
Mood:: 'cold' cold

1. Possibly
2. Not sure, I'm not geeky enough.
3. Hrmmm. What are your options?
4. I enjoyed Kill Bill.
5. You're not.

Good luck with the big decision and the event.

3. Hrmmm. What are your options?

I don't know, that's why I asked :-)

I think I might have a Saturday night in for about the first time in God-knows-how-long. Ah.... bliss ;)

Not much else on apart from the Mish :(

If you haven't seen Good Bye Lenin!, you'd probably enjoy it. It's the only film I've seen recently that I'd be confident about recommending.

1- Yes, Miyazaki is god, and I can borrow it...
2- I don't know, sorry...
3- Nothing on bar the Mission, AFAIK. Maybe a planning session is needed...
4- Have you seen 'Finding Nemo'? It's got fish in it...
5- Depressed sad, or 'spending all your time looking at model robots on the web' sad? It's raining. That's a good reason.

if you've seen it, enjoyed and want to own it - yes. you can borrow our copy to see what you think, if you ain't seen it yet. it's not bad but not my fave miyazake. watch the japanese language version if you abhor disney voices. this goes double for laputa. [pazuuuuuu!]

What is the best MP3 jukebox for under £200?
not a scoob, but try pcpro's site. good reviews and solid testing methods - isually. http://www.pcpro.co.uk

Where should I go this weekend?
dunno, but there's a buca run on if you wanna get lashed and or try our new high-speed drinking game. i think there's also an edgar metal night on in teviot. (we were asked to do a gigantor in the terrace, but we politely refused).

...or go skiing in the pentlands :)

What films should I see in the cinema?
in no particular order:
matchstick men.
finding nemo.
amelie.
kill bill.
young adam.
spellbound.
intolerable cruelty.
alien director's cut.

Why am I so sad?
maybe you rely on others too much. witness the last 4 questions ;)

1. Mononoke is about as good as Laputa, except a bit strange.
2. No idea. Any chance of 10GB iPod stock falling under £200?
3. Pass. What's a resonable radius?
4. Probably Kill Bill. I'd go and see Finding Nemo, but only out of technical interest.
5. Check if you have enough rest, friendship, security and sex. Also, it is cold and dark.

No, rent it or borrow it and copy it if you want to have a copy lying around.

I spent about £50 on a combined USB 128M memory stick and MP3 player. It won't hold the entire collection, only about two hours, but that's what a (much cheaper) PC hard drive / (much much cheaper) MP3 CDs are good for: £150 buys you a 80G hard drive and a ginormous pile of CD-R blanks. And if it gets nicked, so what - it's easy to see that someone's using an iPod on the tube because the headphones are so distinctive, and I'm sure some people are using this as the equivalent of a sign saying 'mug me'...

It depends on what you want.

What's on in Edinburgh?

Pavlos is probably right.

> Should I buy Princess Mononoke

It is very good, but very depressing. Don't watch if you are feeling fragile or in any way wavering between emotions.

> Why am I so sad?

Because you are a complicated, chaotic system with multiple feedback loops. As any engineer will tell you, that will lead to periods of stability and instabilty with poles and zeroes.

Or in real speak. It's because you are an intelligent, self-aware person. Possibly too self-aware. This is one of the troughs. As Alpha (remember her?) said to me once: "This, too, will pass. And it cuts both ways."

Jelly baby? They're awfully good.

Depends on your criteria for best.

I've got a MuVo which I think is fab, but my main criteria were that it be small light and solid state. 128Mb is more than enough for portable use.

Yep, looking at an original MuVo reveals mine is an identical looking clone.
