I've been noodling for a while about what phone I might want when the contract on this one runs out. Now Charlie points out the exact thing I need.

I'm getting all excited here now. Not only is it a Palm and a phone I can do decent length texts on comfortably, it's also a camera. I can join the futurephone revolution!

And it may be out in the UK in time for me (I don't need to get one till after Whitby). And it will be on Orange!

Me runs around in little circles going "want one!" repeatedly - now I wonder how much they're going to cost...

Update: Of course if any of my Treo enabled friends were thinking of upgrading to this one, we could always do a deal... *flutters lashes*

It looks expensive ..

Just a couple of niggles, the screen is big but not protected, and it looks a little thick for putting in pockets - but apart from that it looks very sexy.

Mmmmmm new toys :)

Looks purdy, though I am not sure about there being no protection for the screen. The price at the bottom of the article say $400 - $500. So givin the pound to dollar conversion on these things can quite often be 1 to 1, I think I am going to have to save my pennies for a while :)

Palm (who own Handspring) are pretty good at not doing the 1:1 dollar:pound exchange rate thing -- prices typically translate at the correct exchange rate, plus VAT. Also, if this is locked to Orange expect up to a hundred quid off if you are on a monthly payment contract. I'd guess it'll go for 200-300 quid (or 400-450 inc VAT if you want one that isn't locked to Orange).

I still want one. especially if it'll talk to a folding keyboard (particularly the XP model).

I want one too, for the 144MHz ARM more than anything else.

However I don't see the sense in making the browser proxy-less. The GPRS bill will go up by several times, which I guess is what the networks want...
