I have a problem with bi.org. Now this may not be the correct medium for discussing it, but fuck that. I have an email address rowan at bi.org which has been in use a long long time and I want to get it to forward to my new email address, but how can I do that? I could mail webmaster at bi.org, but I've been trying to do this for months now over something else and never heard a squeak out of them. The something else that I've been trying to sort out is the bi archive webpages. I own these, and I want to remove them, partly because I've had some nasty legal threats about some of the material in them, but I don't have my password any more. Now I can't get them removed, can't get a new password, can't get my old and incredibly well publicised email address fixed. Nada. What should I do?

Nick IIRC is the Bi.org dude yeah?

His LJ username is Jolinar (I dunno whether you know that or not)

Try there??

There could be "more clues" to contact him?

Yeah, communicating with Nic can be a bit... extended. The process of moving the content of bi.org to other servers has been proceeding (or not) in a one step forward, one step back, looooong pause manner for about two years now.

some nasty legal threats about some of the material in them

Oh? Who about what?

I've been pondering scanning and publishing some of the things I have...

One person who didn't want to be outed and is threatening to sue for efamation and copyright violation. One publisher who wants us to correct details in Issue 1, and another correction I forget now. All things I'd be happy to fix if I could. All (probably) unlikely to get their act together to go to court, but I'm really unhappy that Nick can't manage a simple deletion.

i thin kyou mean "how do I contact the administrator". There is no other technical way to re-route your mail. You could do that if you owned the domain and someone else the physical host, but it's not the case.

What I really mean is "how can I get the admionistrator of this allegedly public service to pay attention", which as other people have said, is harder than it should be. I'm moderately sure he's getting my mail: he's just doing sod all about it...
