There are certain flights of easyJet's that are always delayed, and the one that leaves EDI for LTN in the evening (six-ish?) is one of them. It's made worse by it being at a busy time, so everyone else gets delayed as air traffic control fails to cope with the number of aircraft it scheduled to go through its airspace at that time. The next-to-last flight from Luton to Edinburgh is another one that always seems to get delayed, but for true annoyingly bad airline timekeeping, the prize goes to British Airways, who have yet to get me anywhere at the time they said they would (four sectors, four long delays--if I get my Concorde flight, I'm going to book the Edinburgh-Heathrow leg with British Midland to make sure I get there on time). Second prize goes to American, who once managed an on-time flight out of four, and are responsible for the longest delay I've ever experienced, mitigated only by the fact that they put us up in the Hilton in downtown Chicago.

In my experience, easyJet are one of the more reliable carriers around--I've had two real stinkers and a couple of bad delays in something like sixty or seventy flights with them and they've never sent my luggage on a different aircraft from me, unlike certain otherwise excellent German flag-carriers I could name. Take this as a saddening indictment on the state of the airline industry.
