I have a dilemma: I want to participate in nanowrimo to the extent that I join in the meeting other humans and drinking coffee, but I don't want to write a novel.[1] Since sitting in coffee shops faking camaraderie with people who are actually trying to write novels is unfun, my proposed solution is to write blog posts. I *may* write the odd fictional scene which *may* turn into a short story if I am very lucky and also hard working, but that's not the primary aim. The primary aim is to write words which I then encourage other people to read. Some of the resulting blog posts may be friends only, but not all.

My list of possible blog post topics is below, and I will hopefully add to it, but I would be very interested to hear what things you would like to read about, either out of this list or another thing. (Please don't say "I'll read anything you want to write, even if that's true, because the vast choice before me will quite possibly be paralysing and make me less likely to write.)
  • The how and why of me eating less meat
  • Particular adverts that make me irrationally angry
  • Rat brains on heroin - aka my brain on tap tap games
  • The history of bi activism in Scotland (this is for actual paid work, so it will have to be published there first)
  • Apart of the above example why is bisexual specific work so underfunded, I mean seriously!
  • Experiments in using neutral language
  • Adverts that make me perfectly rationally angry insofar as impotent anger is rational
  • Sessional work and the gig economy
  • The to do list of things - in some detail
  • Eating a frog, and why you can't always do it in one go
  • Things that are not adverts that make me irrationally angry (not serious things.)
  • Cat and other ways to tell if it was worth getting out of bed
  • How far from normal are we? (FSVO 'we')
  • Sponsorship adverts and why they are the literal worst
  • Book shopping and other possibly unhelpful terminal values
  • A book review of How to Invent Everything
  • Things I actually like that don't make me irrationally angry at all. [2]
You will notice most of these are opinion pieces, many of a negative nature, but I hope to make the angry ones funny and the opinions personal rather than didactic (if that's what didactic means, I am suddenly unsure about that...) I haven't put more personal 'stuff about me' titles on this list as this post is public and also I feel uncertain anyone would want to read that shit, but do please tell me if there is stuff about me you want to know...

Also you are allowed to make generally encouraging noises about me writing more :-)

[1] Or rather I don't want to write another half finished ramble that I don't feel happy enough with to let anyone else read.
[2] Note to self - not sure about this one...
