Ah, yes, well, but you see, er, Terrorists! Yes, terrorists. And child molesters, drug dealers, and neo-Nazis. New era, and all that. Internet! New threats. As committed to civil liberties as ever though. Checks and balances. Code of practice. Besides, if you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear. Was the microphone on when I said that? Doesn't matter, MI5 will have recorded it anyway...
