We who paint or photograph to stop your dying in its path

I now have a flickr account (guess what it's called...), plus I've upload some bird pictures in my LJ scrapbook. The question is, which do people prefer, and how big should the pictures be - in Mb and pixels, as I'm sure mine are miles too big but I may just be out of date...

I used to work on a maximum edge of 800 pixels for flickr, but upgraded to 1000 recently purely 'cos I got a higher-res screen.

I prefer fickr, but then again I'm a flickr user and I tend to do RSS feeds of people photo streams.

For size of images I upload at 1024 pixels for the long side and post to my blog using the flickr 'small' size. It's worth remembering if you replace (needs a pro account) a phone on flickr the link from your blog may break.
