I say evolve, and let the chips fall where they may

Yesterday I went out birdwatching after buying some (unsuccessful as it turns out) walking shoes. I wasn't expecting much beyond a walk along the river - I've now noted 33 species, which means that it's getting less likely I'll spot a new one, at least until I look in different habitats and have better binoculars. I didn't see any new species, but I did see a great tit feeding its chick in a wall under St Bernard's well and dunnocks mating. I can be sure they were dunnocks because they were doing the behaviour described in the link - "pecking at the female cloaca to displace any sperm from a previous mating before mating themselves"

I think I may find this stuff interesting for some time to come...

Well she didn't look as if it was bothering her... And the mating itself lasts about a second - so I guess they have different standards!

I'm going to start being good in case the Buddhists are right and I come back as a dunnock!
