People clearly love to give wildlife names. I decided to start noticing birds recently, so I walk through the park and by the water more often. Today I saw Robin, Maggie, Pink, Phillip, and may or may not have seen Jenny. I decided that the Blacks are called Bo and Bess but can't remember if I made that up. But what should I call the common or scuzzy rock pigeon or flying rat? And the evil-eyed herring gull? Answers on a feather to the usual address...
