5) I've never actually known the name of this song - Madness.
17) It's a Sin - Pet Shop Boys
22) Starman - David Bowie
49) The Boo Radleys - Wake Up Boo

35 looks familiar, too.

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, seven out of a hundred to you. You don't actually get any points for 'looks familiar' :-)

[personal profile] djm4 2005-02-13 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, I did know 35 in theory. I'd probably never have got it in practice, though - I could sort of hear the tune but couldn't place it in context.

I never actually listen to the words in Creep, just sort of let the song wash over me. I should try it some time.

5) Is it 'Shut Up' or is that another song? The next line's 'The longer the daylight, the less I do wrong' - although I'm sure the lyric occurs in other songs besides that one by Madness, mind you.

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
It is, that takes you up to 8/100

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
21/100. You got the wrong song title for The Poppies, Laurie Anderson and The Pixies, but you still win. Have an invisible biscuit.

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Bictic! Incredible, I never win lyrics quizzes even a bit, but this time I'm miles ahead!

Should have been able to play the Poppies further forward in my head to get the song title. Or written "Rough Justice" which is part of the title apparently!

And 25 is Bongwater.

Now to look up the songs for the others I didn't know. Ah, I've just worked out the Kinks one is "Suzanna's still alive"...

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
42 is Marc Bolan and T Rex - Telegram Sam

[identity profile] ajva.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid I only know two:

17) It's a sin - Pet Shop Boys
43) Creep - Radiohead

Boy am I crap! :o)

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup - 4/10

[identity profile] duranorak.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Pitiful. Absolutely pitiful of me. Oh well :

12. 'Red Frame/White Light', OMD.

13. '(Just Like) Fred Astaire', James.

17. 'It's A Sin', Pet Shop Boys.

22. 'Starman', David Bowie.

27. 'Gold', Spandau Ballet. You secret 80s cheese-merchant, you.

48. 'He's A Liquid', John Foxx.

Pathetic. But I look forward to hearing what the others are, some of those are gorgeous.

[identity profile] fleurione.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Just some random =)
I was reading a friend's friends page I think.. =)

[identity profile] zbyszek.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I got 1 and 2 ("Alice" - Sisters of Mercy, "Your woman" - White Town) and thought, "This is alright", but then nothing until 30 ("Deus" - The Sugarcubes) and 43 ("Creep" - Radiohead). 46 is Laurie Anderson but I'm not sure of the title - "Big Science"?
Five out of bloody fifty - I'm shite and I know I am!
I might try again later, though.

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
7.5 out of 100 (I gave you half for getting the LAurie Anderson Album right). I had to look the White Town up, never having heard of it, but the lyric in that is actually "So much for all your highbrow Marxist ways
Just use me up and then you walk away", so there. Ner.

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I got the right album (but wrong song) on three of mine but no half points for me!

Oh, wait, I won, I should probably not complain...

[identity profile] sublevel3.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I only know the first one, although a couple of the others seem vaguely familiar.

1. The Sisters of Mercy - Alice

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-12 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
2/100. Tut!
