As others have commented, it is quite possibly Zone Alarm - I had a lot of problems with shared drives when I tried to attach my machine to the network here, and even my pet network engineer couldn't sort it out. When we took Zone Alarm off the sharing worked instantly. It's a shame really as it was rather a good programme.
