I've changed my name, only not yet legally. I am still dithering about what to do legally cos my mother is freaked out by it and I have a lot of legal stuff I'm in the middle of
I had a foul and pointless disciplinary hearing, and then was suspended for bogus reasons, and then had ANOTHER lot of disciplinary charges flung at me and then lost my job and am appealing against unfair dismissal
My partner has been homeless, and was in a B&B for four months, but is now in a flat, but is still technically homeless, also he's just broken his collarbone which is foul for him
My mental health is quite poor at the moment, but I am seeing a nice mentalist up at Astley Ainsley which may help some
I have signed on for ESA, which is bugger all money to live on but better than nowt. So now I have the joy of an ATOS form to look forward to which gives me The Fear
I lost my brilliant binoculars in Banstead Woods. WAIL
I had a tooth (or what was left of it under the crown) break off at the gum line, so now I have to get the nerve to find out what I need to go through to get that fixed
I managed to miss two appointments with a physio at Astley Ainsley so now I am putting that on hold for a while because CANNOT COPE
Menopause. Nuff said.
And for balance there would have to be some positive things such as:-
BiCon was good: not wildly brilliant due to the state of the rabbits and the fact it was in Edinburgh so I hadn't originally intended to stay on site. But good. (And everything BiCon team did for me rocked)
I invented an easy peasy mini shawl pattern while at BiCon
I have had two separate lovely breaks in the highlands, and saw ospreys and many other beautiful creatures and places including badgers! and pine marten!
I now have a breadmaker and a slow cooker, due to credit at the BHF shop (also still have £20 credit)
I have done some helping at Shelter and incidentally acquired various things and stuff by skip diving charity shop bins
I went to Nine Worlds, which was odd but good, if possibly not entirely my thing. I did meet several people I admire including Laurie Penny and Corey Doctorow and Benedict Jacka and Jack Cohen and met new people to admire like Rochita Loenen-Ruiz and Neth Dugan and I WISH I'd got out of the lovely lovely bed in time for Racefail 101 and met Zen Cho.
Stayed at mum's who was lovely and gave me money for new binoculars and bought me bras and trousers and I helped her fix her photos and she was lovely
Went to Birdfest, which was OK but definitely Not My Thing but I met people I admire like Bill Oddie and David Lindo, and went on a wee cruise on Rutland Water with Simon King at fuck-me-o-clock in the morning and saw many many many ospreys.
My flat now looks like a depressed person who's been skip diving and spent loads of time away and run out of spoons lives in it. Which would be fair. But I have managed to wash some clothes and make dal and buy fruit and veg and eat some since I got back, so I do not completely suck.
