I do believe that I am starting to recover from the Winter Blues Part 1. I have been working quite hard at work, and was in the office till 7.30 last Wednesday, but then I had Thursday and Friday off. So I did Things and Stuff, including:

Wednesday visitation from Sarah and drum removal, which leaves a bit more space in the living room. Also ordered a rug for the library so my computer chair doesn't destroy the new floor any more.

Thursday housewerk, Doctor wrangling to arrange meds, brief expedition to purchase nommy foods and visitation from Matt to eat said foods and blether (also watch 'Why Men Watch Porn' on Bravo, which was just WTF?

Friday prescription collection, library book renewal, and wander down the river to Stockbridge. Things sighted include moorhen, mallards, dipper, mink and some weird people made of leaves. Poked in some charity shops in Stockbridge and got prescription filled,  got throughly rained on, caved in to the call of Starbucks and went home for tea and TV.

Saturday went with Jon to Tinker Tailor in Leith, learned to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin without throwing anything at the wall, and helped the lovely volunteers to mend my coat pocket and turn up the incredibly long hem of my fave black skirt. Got rained on again on the way home, but managed to buy spaghetti squash and a cabbage at their mini farmers' market and a silly Bill Oddie book at the flea market. No energy in the evening resulted in Chinese takeout - but it was nommy so don't care.

Sunday went to Musselburgh lagoons and in spite of a minor bus accident where a Sunday driver ran into the back of us, got decanted onto a new bus in time to make high tide. I saw 32 species including:

Herring, lesser black backed, great black backed, common and black headed gulls
Carrion crow, magpie, jackdaw and starling
Town pigeons, wood pigeon and collared dove
Blue tit and long tailed tit
Pied wagtail and meadow pipit
Canada and grey lag goose and mute swan
Mallard, goldeneye, goosander, shelduck, teal, eider and tufted duck
Heron, lapwing, dunlin, curlew, oystercatcher and grey plover

And after a long ride home I found energy to make a nice pumpkin and chickpea curry. So there.
