This is my new user icon. I could use it for things that are (especially) true. No things that you see under this icon will be a lie. Or at least not a lie made up by me.

I want (someone else) to make an online version of the alethiometer, but it would only do random readings as the internets are not guaranteed to be full of the Truth.

Yes, I am re-reading His Dark Materials. I am still blown away by how good it is, and struck by the fact that for the first time in my recollection the title of the first book is actually better in the American Version.

I offered someone a job yesterday. I had done interviewing before but not actually phoning to tell them they'd got it. It was cool, and I've managed to negotiate a slightly above-minimum salary for them too. All By Myself! Can you tell I don't yet feel grown-up enough to be doing this? I can only assume that I never will...

Is it possible to ban people from commenting on my journal if they have never commented? I can't see a way (and yes I may well be being paranoid, but it led me to think about the general case...)

Beltane stuffs is going well, but I still feel a bit swamped by the quantity of it. On the other hand I did (finally) get my enthusiasm for it back on Wednesday night when we did a fantastic walkthrough with white. And Jon is now off to Oz for a month, so I have time to myself and much to do in it, and it will be alright and his plane will not crash and stuff.

I may be down in London on the first weekend in May to steward a giant time travelling robotic elephant, although it is also possible that I will chicken out. If I did come could anyone provide crash space? It would be from 4-7th May.

ETA: apparently I need to be able to get to Battersea on the Thursday, so South London would be best for Crash Space...
