Today I shall be not-detoxing, because I don't believe in detoxing. I shall, however be eating only fruit and vegetables in preparation for tackling my diet Yet Again. If it works I may consider doing it every so often. (I'm not cutting out caffeine or aspartame, because that would be, well, impossible...)

Spirited Away is pretty good, but seemed a bit too Disney. Maybe it's because I saw the English Language version, but I felt it would have been better if some of the characters turned out to be really evil, or people who'd been eaten stayed eaten, or there was in general some of the darkness I usually associate with good children's stories. It was very beautiful, though, and I loved the little soot people and the river spirit.

My to do list now only has one item on it for this week. Finish the application form for the Learn Direct job I want. I have started it, which is a breakthrough, so people can feel free to nag be about it now. It's due in on Friday.

Apparently only 2.5 people had a secret crush on me, and no-one had a public one. Since the FAQ says:
Some people took the original quiz multiple times. If that was the case, and they changed their feelings about you, then the result is just split between the choices that were made, creating a fractional answer.
I am now officially upset, as someone must have changed their mind about liking me :-(

I don't care, since the people who did this are scum of the lowest order and if I could I'd have their LJ account removed with extreme prejudice - through their nose.

Today I have eaten:
4 carrots
an apple
a peach
a ready mixed salad from Safeway (all veg except for a vinegar and mustard dressing, and 3 olives).
And a quantity of diet coke but no coffee

Already I am feeling the effects - the first effect being that I feel uber virtuous...

And in case I need putting off of my food for a while, Fortnum and Mason have launched a range of edible treats for Halloween including real worms, ants and scorpions. Yum.

The other headline that caught my eye was: Foetus with three parents created

Forgive me if I'm being dense, but if the foetus uses only two sets of DNA, is it any more 'three parents' than if it was just implanted in a different woman than provide the egg?

So who wants to give me a reference?

I need someone who knows my work on BiCon, who has a daytime telephone number and preferably who has a reasonably respectable job in the voluntary sector. You'd be my second reference, so I'm not relying on you for work related stuff, and I can give you a crib sheet. Pretty please?
