Pre-Covid, our weekly food spend was so constant that I stopped bothering to monitor it, but it's not just the increase in fuel prices that mean the 'household expenses' account needs topping up much more often than it used to: food inflation, especially at the lower end is appallingly high and has been for a while now.
So I am not surprised that £30 a month is extremely difficult, even with the freezer already with stuff.
